§ 46-3. Gang activity.

  • (a)

    Any person that actively recruits or solicits membership for a gang within the city limits of the city shall be guilty of a crime against the city.

    (b)

    Any parent of any minor found guilty of gang membership or gang activity resulting in injury to personal property or any adult having the legal duty to supervise such a minor which said parent or adult condones or promotes gangs or gang activity shall be guilty of a crime against the peace and dignity of the city.

    (c)

    The term "gang" is hereby defined to be an organization of persons whose purpose is to cause harm to people by threats, violence, or intimidation or whose purpose is to destroy personal or private property or any group of people that actively recruit membership for the purpose of teaching members to injure others and/or destroy or steal property.
